Joining the York Rite

The degrees and orders of the York Rite are conferred by local Chapters, Councils, and Commanderies in the intimate setting of local Lodge rooms, with the added dramatic benefits of live theater. These conferrals occur at local York Rite bodies in seventeen different cities throughout Oklahoma. A link to a listing of the constituent Chapters, Councils, and Commanderies can be found in the appropriate tab in the menu above, or you can download a pdf version here.

In addition, statewide or regional festivals are held from time to time at which all of the degrees and orders are conferred in one day or during two weekends. See our Festivals page for details about upcoming festivals.

According to Oklahoma Masonic Law, the York Rite is open to any Master Mason who has been a Master Mason for more than six months or has been passed as proficient in the lecture of the Master Mason degree; also to any Scottish Rite Mason who has not yet become a Companion and Knight of the York Rite. (Note: In 2016, the Grand Master has waived the 6 month requirement.)

A General Petition for the York Rite Bodies is available online. For further information about how to join the York Rite, contact any York Rite Mason or our Grand Secretary-Recorder.
